Nicole Laurel Asensio will present 20 songs across two distinct sets at 78 Salcedo on 19 September. She will perform her special showcase “Songwriter” at the venue’s new second-floor space on San Agustin Street in Salcedo Village, Makati.
The performance will bypass heavy stage production to present a bare-bones, original view of her creative process. The 20 songs were selected from hundreds written throughout her career.
The first set, “Pen to Performance,” will begin at 7:00 PM and feature ten previously released tracks reimagined into a direct, intimate arrangement.
The second set, “Unspoken and Unseen,” will begin at 9:00 PM and venture into spoken word, unfinished drafts, and songs she authored that audiences may not realize she wrote. It will offer both long-time listeners and first-time attendees an unvarnished look at how her music takes shape, including unheard material performed aloud for the first time.
Nicole is a multi-awarded recording artist and performer who has spent two decades gracing stages across 16 countries. Rather than remaining in a single genre, her work spans Rock, Jazz, Classical, Soul, and Blues. “Songwriter” will strip away these broad musical personas to present her catalog directly from pen to audience.
