Police arrested a 40-year-old farmer and seized 15.874 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P107,943.20 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lira, San Juan, Ilocos Sur on September 12, 2026.
The suspect, a single resident of San Juan, was identified by authorities as a newly identified drug personality categorized as a street-level individual (SLI).
The operation was conducted by personnel of the San Juan Municipal Police Station as the lead unit, together with the 3rd Platoon of the 1st Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, PDEA Ilocos Sur Provincial Office, Ilocos Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Intelligence Unit and the PDEG Special Operations Unit 1.
Police said the operation was conducted in coordination with the PDEA Regional Office 1 and resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
Recovered during the operation were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a total of 15.874 grams of suspected shabu. Police said the seized items consisted of the buy-bust item and additional sachets allegedly recovered from the suspect’s possession.
The confiscated suspected illegal drugs were placed at an estimated standard drug price of P107,943.20.
Authorities proceeded with the inventory and documentation of the seized evidence in accordance with established procedures.
The suspect is set to face appropriate charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, subject to the findings of the investigation and prosecutorial proceedings.
