Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assured the public Tuesday that funds designated for infrastructure and equipment projects will be properly utilized to bolster police operations across the country.

“Police stations serve as the frontline of PNP services to the Filipino people, and we are committed to ensuring that all our facilities are accessible and presentable at all times as a symbol of the kind of service and protection that we deliver,” he said.

Nartatez cited that the initiative aligns with instructions from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to enhance police services and maintain fiscal responsibility.

The proposed PNP budget for 2027 stands at P242.53 billion, an increase from this year’s P226.55-billion allocation.

The proposed package includes P2 billion for the Capability Enhancement Program — targeting firepower, communications, mobility, and anti-terrorism gear — along with P3.12 billion for information and communications technology, and P1.499 billion dedicated to infrastructure.

Nartatez said technical assessments of police facilities are underway nationwide to evaluate damage caused by recent tropical cyclones and heavy rainfall.

The ongoing evaluations will determine which stations require immediate reconstruction, repairs, or facility upgrades.

Procurement for essential tactical hardware remains prioritized to modernize the police force and align national standards with international law enforcement agencies.
