  • Asia Rose Simpson brings the warmth and beauty of Filipino culture to the international stage as she showcases the timeless elegance of Pandanggo sa Ilaw, one of the Philippines’ most cherished traditional dances.

For her Dances of the World presentation, the Miss World Philippines 2026 representative transforms movement into a celebration of heritage, capturing the delicate balance, grace, and radiance associated with the folk dance. More than a performance, the presentation serves as a visual tribute to generations of Filipinos who have kept the country’s traditions alive through music, dance, and storytelling.

Light serves as the central symbol of the concept, carrying a message that goes beyond aesthetics. Through each graceful movement, Simpson reflects Filipino artistry and cultural pride while giving an international audience a glimpse of the country’s rich cultural heritage.

The presentation also demonstrates how fashion can deepen cultural storytelling. Simpson wears a creation by designer Renel Suarez, with Zarate Lexter assisting, while Vhee Co handled styling with assistance from Styl Lang. Rashied Clores photographed the look, with January Saga Abad overseeing art direction.

Completing the creative team were JR Cons for makeup and Mar V. Murillo for hair. The shoot was held at The MND Area Studios, with Jojo Bragais providing the shoes. Nova Aesthetics PH and Doctor Zed handled skin care, while Urban Smiles PH and Dr. RFD Smile provided dental care.

As Simpson continues her Miss World journey, her Pandanggo sa Ilaw-inspired presentation offers another opportunity to place Filipino identity at the center of the global stage. Through light, movement, and tradition, she carries not only the pursuit of a crown but also the enduring grace and cultural pride of the Philippines.
