If there is one thing that the First Lady is proud of Gwyn Dorado for, it’s for bringing pride to the country, urging the Pinay singing sensation to continue making the country proud.

Dorado is a Filipino singer-songwriter and actress who gained international recognition in early 2026 for her historic run on the South Korean talent competition “Sing Again 4.”

“So happy to meet Gwyn Dorado — a young Filipina who has been sharing her gift with the world since she was just a little girl,” the First Lady wrote on her Facebook page.

She said that at only 10 years old, she was already a grand finalist on Asia’s Got Talent, which Araneta Marcos learned after having a chitchat with Dorado on Monday night, when the singer-songwriter visited Malacañang.

“And today, she continues to make us proud, finishing 2nd in South Korea’s Sing Again 4 and even lending her voice to a K-drama soundtrack,” Araneta Marcos said.

“From the Philippines to South Korea and beyond, Gwyn is proof that Filipino talent can truly shine anywhere in the world. You’ve got talent, Gwyn! Keep singing, keep dreaming, and keep making us proud,” she further wrote.

Dorado’s victory further expanded her career in South Korea, where she has released original music and contributed to the soundtrack of the South Korean romance-comedy series “My Royal Nemesis.”

Her recent achievements underscore the ability of Filipino artists to compete and succeed on highly competitive international platforms, particularly in South Korea’s entertainment industry.

Following their conversation, Dorado gave President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. a brief musical performance, singing a portion of the Filipino classic “Bato sa Buhangin.”

Her meeting with the President comes as Filipino artists continue to gain wider international recognition, demonstrating how homegrown talent can bring Filipino identity and excellence to audiences around the world.
