Wise is expanding its Philippine services with QR Ph payments, Philippine peso account details and higher real-time receiving limits for businesses as more Filipinos work, travel and transact across borders.
Wise users can now scan and pay through QR Ph using Philippine pesos or other currencies held in their Wise Account. The feature allows travelers to make local payments without opening a Philippine bank account or e-wallet.
Freelancers and other users receiving international payments can also convert their earnings to pesos and spend directly from their Wise balance.
Wise is also introducing PHP account details, allowing Filipinos abroad and other Wise users globally to receive peso-denominated payments through InstaPay and PESONet without opening a traditional Philippine bank account.
Users can share their PHP account details with employers, clients, friends or family to receive local transfers.
For businesses, Wise has raised the limit for instant domestic payments received through InstaPay for Business to P500,000.
The company said the higher limit could help small businesses manage cash flow for expenses such as payroll, inventory and supplier payments.
“Managing international money is becoming an everyday reality for many Filipinos as they increasingly live and do business across borders,” Wise Philippines country manager Areson Cuevas said.
“By integrating with domestic payment networks, we’re making the Philippine Peso more accessible,” he added.
Wise launched in the Philippines in 2024 and has since introduced its Wise Account and Card and Wise Business services. It has also partnered with GoTyme Bank to provide international money transfers through the latter’s app.
