For years, Veejay Floresca has helped brides turn their dream gowns into reality. On Friday, 14 August, the celebrated Filipino American designer became a bride herself, marking a new chapter in her life with a wedding that reflected her unmistakable fashion signature.

Floresca married her longtime partner at Celestine in Brooklyn, New York, in an intimate celebration that brought together love, family, and the craft that has defined much of her professional journey.

For the ceremony, Floresca wore a gown of her own creation, bringing to life a vision she had held long before her wedding day. Rather than follow fleeting trends, she opted for a design she believed would remain elegant for years to come.

“I have always envisioned myself wearing a beautiful, timeless, and classic gown on my wedding day,” Floresca shared on social media.

Her creativity extended beyond her own bridal look. She also designed the bespoke suit worn by her husband and created an elegant beaded red gown for her mother. Later in the celebration, she changed into another creation from her namesake label for the after-party.

The occasion became even more meaningful after days of uncertain weather. Floresca said rain had persisted throughout the week leading up to the ceremony, prompting her to pray for clear skies on her wedding day.

“It was raining that week and I asked God to gave us the perfect weather and He did!” she wrote, describing the celebration as “The best day!”

The wedding came months after Floresca announced her engagement in January, sharing her happiness with her followers through photos of the couple.

Behind the celebration is a fashion career built across countries and shaped by years of training. Born and raised in the Philippines, Floresca studied fashion design and merchandising at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She later pursued graduate studies in fashion at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and further honed her expertise in bridal wear at Central Saint Martins in London.

Now based in New York City, Floresca has established herself in made-to-order bridal and eveningwear, often incorporating elements inspired by her Filipino roots into a clean, contemporary design aesthetic.

Her international profile reached new heights when she won Season 21 of “Project Runway,” becoming the competition’s first Filipino American and transgender woman champion. The victory marked another milestone in a journey that began on reality television years earlier, when she competed as a finalist in the inaugural season of “Project Runway Philippines.”

Yet on her wedding day, the designer behind countless meticulously crafted looks celebrated something more personal than another career achievement.

After years of creating clothes for other people’s milestones, Floresca finally designed for one of the biggest moments of her own life—and walked into her next chapter wearing a dream she had fashioned herself.
