DAVAO CITY — Christine Hallasgo and Edsel Moral stood tall at the winners podium after topping the Singlife Davao 42K Marathon on Saturday at the SM Lanang Premier here.
Hallasgo clocked three hours, three minutes and 16 seconds to win the women’s division while Moral had his way at the local community roads with 2:33:52 in the men’s class.
Hallasgo, a veteran of the Tokyo Olympics, edged closest finishers Maricar Camacho (3:23:00) and Lizane Juay Abella (3:26:37) who settled for second and third places in the women’s division, respectively.
On the other hand, Rick Organiza (2:35:05) and James Kevin Cruz (2:36:39) placed second and third in the men’s division, in that order.
Russel Alaba, senior assistant vice-president for Marketing Operations of SM Supermalls-Mindanao, said they are happy with the huge turnout of the event.
“We are happy we reached around three thousand runners for this event. This year’s Singlife Davao Marathon turned race day into a celebration of strength, perseverance, and community,” Alaba said.
