The hit Chinese romantic drama Falling Into Your Smile is set to make its Philippine television debut, giving local audiences a chance to experience a love story set against the high-pressure world of professional esports.
Starring Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao, the series premieres Monday, 17 August, at 10:15 p.m. on ALLTV2, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and iWant.
The drama follows Lu Sicheng, played by Xu Kai, a skilled but aloof captain of ZGDX, one of China’s leading professional gaming teams. Xu Kai previously gained recognition among Filipino viewers through his role in Story of Yanxi Palace, which aired on ABS-CBN in 2020.
Cheng Xiao stars as Tong Yao, a talented gamer who earns a spot as ZGDX’s first female player. Determined to establish herself in a male-dominated competitive scene, Tong Yao faces the intense demands of professional gaming while pursuing her ambition to compete at the highest level.
Her new role also puts her in close quarters with Lu Sicheng. The two initially struggle to see eye to eye, with their different personalities creating friction both inside and outside the game. As they spend more time together as teammates, however, their relationship begins to take an unexpected turn.
