    “Magkasundo kahit anong kulay.”

“Together no matter the color.” This was the message that resonated with netizens after Kris Aquino and her sons, Josh and Bimby, delivered advance birthday cakes to First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, prompting praise for what they described as a show of goodwill despite the families’ political differences.

Mrs. Marcos thanked Aquino and her sons for the surprise, saying the thoughtful gesture “truly warmed” her heart.

“Thank you, Kris, Josh and Bimby for the lovely advance birthday cakes! Such a thoughtful surprise that truly warmed my heart. Feeling very blessed,” the First Lady said in a social media post.

The gesture drew attention online, with one netizen framing it as an example of unity across political lines.

“This is the aim of the First Family for amity, no matter the color, for the Philippines,” the netizen said in Filipino, while greeting the First Lady a happy birthday.

Another commenter described the moment as touching, saying it was good to see people putting past hurts aside.

“They have no more hurt in their hearts, it’s over. It’s nice to see their gestures, they are real people!” the commenter wrote.

Another said the scene was “a joy to behold,” adding that being on good terms brings peace of mind.

The warm exchange between the Aquinos and the First Lady touched netizens given their families’ long political history and the deep divisions between them.

The First Lady, born on 21 August 1959, will celebrate her 67th birthday on Friday next week.
