Dr. Antonio S. Say, president of Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Philippines, has earned a master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila College of Public Health, according to the foundation.

Say graduated on 4 August and attended a recognition ceremony at UP Manila.

He continues to hold several leadership roles in the healthcare sector. Say is senior vice president and chief medical officer of Cardinal Santos Medical Center, where he also chairs the Department of Graduate Medical Education. He is likewise executive director of the Chinese General Hospital Colleges.

A practicing ophthalmologist and educator, Say has been a member of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery since 1984. He is also known for introducing phacoemulsification cataract surgery to the Philippines in the 1990s and training other ophthalmologists in the procedure.

Say's academic background includes a Master of Health Professional Education, reflected in his professional credentials as MD, MPHED.

His work with Tzu Chi includes providing eye care to underserved communities through the Tzu Chi Eye Center in Sta. Mesa, Manila. He serves as one of the center's volunteer doctors.

In 2024, the Vitreo-Retina Society of the Philippines honored Say with the AKASI Exemplar Award for Outstanding Educator for his contributions to ophthalmology and medical education.
