  • The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1) arrested 308 wanted persons across the Ilocos Region in July 2026 as part of its intensified manhunt operations aimed at enforcing court-issued warrants and enhancing public safety.

PRO-1 said those arrested included seven regional-level wanted persons, nine provincial-level fugitives, four city-level, 23 municipal-level, and 265 other individuals facing various criminal charges.

The arrests stemmed from intelligence-driven operations conducted under the Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. Framework of PRO-1 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr., which seeks to strengthen the region's capability to locate and apprehend wanted persons.

Police said the campaign also supports the operational priorities of Philippine National Police Chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. to improve operational management and intensify anti-criminality efforts nationwide.

Badua commended the operating units for their sustained efforts, saying the operations reinforce the rule of law by ensuring that fugitives are brought before the courts.

"Justice is better served when individuals facing criminal charges are made to answer before the law. Our consistent manhunt operations send a clear message that warrants of arrest will not be ignored, and PRO-1 will continue working tirelessly with all concerned units to ensure that wanted persons are located and apprehended," Badua said.

PRO-1 said it will sustain intelligence-based manhunt operations across the Ilocos Region to locate fugitives and support the administration of justice.
