Police arrested 70 wanted persons across the Ilocos Region during a week-long manhunt operation conducted from 15 to 21 July, according to the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1).
The arrests included two regional most wanted persons, four provincial most wanted persons, three municipal most wanted persons, and 61 other individuals facing outstanding warrants of arrest.
PRO 1 said the operations were carried out through coordinated warrant service operations, intelligence monitoring, and collaboration among police units across the region.
The arrests form part of the regional police's continuing campaign against wanted persons under its Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. operational framework, which focuses on intelligence-driven law enforcement and inter-unit coordination.
PRO 1 Regional Director PBGen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr. said the campaign aims to locate and arrest individuals who have pending criminal cases before the courts.
"No one is beyond the reach of the law. Our manhunt operations demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that those facing criminal charges are located, arrested, and made accountable before our courts. We will continue to strengthen our operational efforts under the Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. framework to keep our communities safe and uphold the rule of law," Badua said.
Police said operations against wanted persons will continue as part of ongoing law enforcement efforts across the Ilocos Region.
