Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two suspected drug personalities and seized more than P542,000 worth of suspected shabu and ketamine during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Makati City, early Friday.
The suspects were identified only as alias Michael, 39, of Pasay City, and alias Randy, 38, of Barangay San Isidro, Makati City.
Police said personnel from the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, conducted the operation at about 3:25 a.m.
An undercover officer successfully purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from alias Michael. During the transaction, alias Randy allegedly arrived at the scene to obtain illegal drugs, prompting officers to immediately arrest both suspects.
Authorities recovered about 6.2 grams of suspected shabu worth P42,160 and 100 grams of suspected ketamine valued at P500,000, along with the marked buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The suspects remain in police custody while authorities prepare charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Makati City Prosecutor's Office.
