Lexus Philippines will introduce the all-new ES in August, with hybrid and fully electric versions planned for the local market.
The next-generation executive sedan receives major changes to its design, dimensions, cabin and powertrain choices. It will also become the first ES offered as a battery-electric vehicle in the Philippines.
Lexus has yet to announce the complete local lineup, specifications and prices. These details will be released closer to the launch.
The new ES adopts the brand’s latest design direction, with cleaner body surfaces and more sculpted proportions.
It is longer and roomier than the model it replaces, which should provide additional cabin space while retaining the low profile of a traditional sedan.
A new exterior color called Sou will make its debut on the ES. Other available finishes include Sonic Copper, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, Sonic Iridium, White Nova Glass Flake and Graphite Black Glass Flake.
Customers will be able to choose from self-charging hybrid variants or the fully electric model.
The ES has long served as one of Lexus’ main hybrid sedans, although the addition of a battery-powered version gives buyers another option as the brand expands its electrified range.
The cabin also receives a new design. Lexus says it will feature updated connectivity, added comfort equipment and the latest version of its driver-assistance technology.
The interior continues to follow the brand’s Omotenashi approach, a Japanese concept that centers on anticipating the needs of guests.
The ES arrives at a time when SUVs account for much of the luxury market. Its August launch gives buyers another sedan choice, with more space than its predecessor and two types of electrified powertrains.
Lexus Philippines will release more information on the variants, equipment and availability in the coming weeks.
