VinFast is positioning the Viper as an electric alternative to the 125cc scooters that have long filled Philippine streets.

Its starting price of P73,900 places it within reach of many familiar gasoline models, while its battery-swapping plan gives buyers another way to handle daily charging.

The entry price applies to units offered under a battery subscription. Buyers may also purchase the Viper with one battery for P86,600 or with two batteries for P99,300. Monthly subscription rates are P439 for one battery and P799 for two.

Customers who sign up for the subscription on or before 31 July 2026, will receive free use of one battery for the first 12 months.

The offer also covers up to 20 free battery swaps each month during the promotional period. A regular swap costs P35.

VinFast’s partner V-Green plans to build around 30,000 swapping stations across the Philippines. The initial stations will be placed at VinFast dealerships before the network reaches more areas. No completion date has been announced.

Owners are not limited to swapping batteries. The Viper uses removable lithium iron phosphate battery packs, which may also be charged at home through a standard wall outlet.

Two batteries may be stored under the seat, with a claimed range of up to 150 kilometers under standard conditions.

That distance should cover several days of short city trips for many riders. It also gives commuters another option when home charging is not practical or when they need to return to the road without a long wait.

The Viper does not look far removed from the sporty scooters already sold in the country. It has sharp body panels, a raised rear section and proportions that should look familiar to buyers in this class.

VinFast avoided an overly futuristic design, which may help the motorcycle appeal to riders who want to go electric without attracting too much attention.

A 5,200-watt BLDC in-wheel motor drives the Viper. VinFast claims a top speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour, which should be enough for urban commutes and faster city roads.

The equipment list includes a TFT instrument panel, projector headlamps and a Smart Key system. Remote locating and tracking functions are also included.

At the rear, the scooter uses two shock absorbers with external reservoirs, a feature more often found on pricier motorcycles.

VinFast enters a crowded part of the local market, where buyers already know the running costs, maintenance routines and resale value of gasoline scooters.

Its main advantage may be that buyers do not have to pay a large premium to try an electric commuter. The price sits close to established 125cc models, while the ownership choices allow customers to rent the batteries or purchase them outright.

That makes the Viper a direct option for riders who need an everyday scooter.
