  • A total of 1,000 police personnel from the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) have been deployed to the National Capital Region to augment security operations for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The deployment was formalized during a send-off ceremony at Camp Marcelo A. Adduru, led by PRO2 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Mariano C. Rodriguez.

The contingent is composed of 39 personnel from the PRO2 Regional Headquarters, 105 from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2, 299 from the Cagayan Police Provincial Office, 303 from the Isabela Police Provincial Office, 104 from the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office, 50 from the Quirino Police Provincial Office, and 100 from the Santiago City Police Office.

In his message, Rodriguez reminded the deployed personnel to uphold discipline and professionalism while prioritizing one another’s safety throughout the security mission.

“Mag-ingat kayong lahat at protektahan ninyo ang bawat isa. The PRO2 command assures you of its full support and remains committed to safeguarding your welfare throughout this mission. When the mission is over, it is my fervent prayer that every one of you returns to your families and loved ones carrying the same pride and honor with which you leave today,” Rodriguez said.

He also emphasized that the officers carry with them the trust of the public, the honor of the Philippine National Police, and the prayers of their families.

“We look forward to welcoming each one of you home safely after helping ensure a peaceful, orderly, and secure State of the Nation Address of the President,” he added.

The deployed personnel are expected to return to Region 2 on Tuesday after completing their security assignment for the SONA.
