Red Diwa and Iñigo Anton each scored two class victories as the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup completed Race Weekend 2 at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Diwa gave Toyota Isabela a strong run in the Super Sporting Class. He won Sprint Race 4 ahead of Alain Gabriel Alzona of Toyota Gensan and Davao Racing, while Joaquin Garrido of Obengers Racing finished third.

Maila Alivia of Toyota Isabela and Edgesport Racing took the next race, followed by Michael Bryan Co of R Racing and TDG Group. Diwa placed third before returning to the top in Sprint Race 6, where Garrido and Co completed the podium.

The Sporting Class produced a different winner in each race. Mike Santos of R Racing led Sprint Race 4, with Bern Zaragoza of Resultado Racing in second and Luigi Co of R Racing and TDG Group in third.

Co won Sprint Race 5 ahead of Emmanuel Jason Lao of Happy Hotels App and Joshua David Marquez of Obengers Racing.

Zaragoza answered in Sprint Race 6 and took the victory over Julia De Los Angeles and Marquez, both from Obengers Racing. His results placed him in the lead of the Sporting Class after the weekend.

Anton controlled much of the Tamaraw Class action for Obengers Racing. He won Sprint Race 4 over Oliver Aquino of Toyota Bicutan Racing Team and Raymond Cudala of R Racing.

Reyes closed the weekend with a win in Sprint Race 6. Anton finished second and Cudala returned to the podium in third, which kept Anton ahead in the Tamaraw Class standings.

Paolo Ang swept the Legacy Class races for Madkart and R Racing. He won Sprint Race 3 and repeated the result in Sprint Race 4.

Jher Villar of Precision Speed Racing placed second in both events, while Oliver Estrella of Oliver Autoworx took third each time.

Diwa left Clark as the Super Sporting Class leader, while Zaragoza held the top spot in Sporting. Anton remained in front in Tamaraw after a weekend that saw several drivers trade victories across the three main classes.

Toyota Motor Philippines president Masando Hashimoto, who also raced in the Tamaraw Class, used the weekend to explain why the company tested biofuels during the races.

The Vios one-make cars ran on E20 bioethanol, while the Tamaraw race vehicles used B5 coco-biodiesel.

Hashimoto said locally produced fuel can reduce the country’s exposure to overseas supply problems and create more demand for crops grown by Filipino farmers.

He said the racetrack gives Toyota a place to test the fuel in demanding conditions before lessons are applied beyond motorsports.

The series moves to Batangas Racing Circuit from 13 to 15 August before returning to Clark International Speedway from 10 to 12 September for Race Weekend 4.
