From the bread and butter to dessert, every detail should leave guests with an unforgettable experience.
Jaja Santiago-Minowa has signed a deal with the San Francisco Signal as she takes her act to the League One Volleyball (LOVB) in the United States.
The club formally welcomed the former Alas Pilipinas player, now known as Sachi Minowa, on its social media account on Friday morning.
“Philippine-born Japanese middle blocker, Jaja joins the Signal fresh off capturing the prestigious Japan SV.League Championship title! A decorated veteran of the Philippine National Team and one of Japan’s top middle blockers, Jaja is bringing her 12 years of championship experience and elite presence at the net to the Bay,” the Signal wrote.
Santiago, who has since switched citizenship to Japanese after marrying Alas head coach Taka Minowa, bolsters the firepower of the expansion team heading to the start of the LOVB season in January 2027.
Signal, which is co-owned by five-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion player and four-time titlist as coach of the Golden State Warriors Steve Kerr, is among the league’s newcomers along with Los Angeles, Miami, and Minnesota.
The four squads join defending champion Austin, Atlanta, Houston, Madison, Nebraska and Salt Lake.
The 6-foot-5 National University product expressed gratitude for the opportunity to spread her wings as the first Philippine-born volleyball star to see action in the US pro scene.
“Thank you, San Francisco Signal for the opportunity to be part of this team. Super excited to work with very talented and passionate players and coaches,” Santiago posted on her social media.
Minowa will fly to the US in November to train with her new club ahead of the league’s opening.
The 30-year-old Santiago has spent nine seasons in the Japan SV.League with three different clubs.
Minowa last played for the Denso Airybees in the 2025-2026 season of the SV.League.
She saw action for the Ageo Medics for five seasons before transferring to the Osaka Marvelous in 2023. Minowa powered the Marvelous to the 2024-2025 SV.League title.
