DAVAO CITY — A total of 140 entries are expected to join the 2nd Davao-Japan Friendship Golf tournament set this 25 July at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Mandug here.
Liza Gamo, president of the co-organizing Hotel and Resorts Sales and Marketing Association said the even will be held in recognition of the 70the anniversary of the Philippines-Japan diplomatic relations.
“This year’s tournament has been officially recognized and certified as an event of the 70th Anniversary Japan-Philippines Friendship Year by the 70th Anniversary of diplomatic relations,” Gamo said during the Davao Sportswriters Association Forum on Thursday.
Tournament director Paul Garcia added that the one-day tournament will follow the Modified Stableford mode of play with shotgun starts at 10 a.m.
The awarding ceremonies will be held on that evening, 6 p.m. at the Rogen Inn ballroom.
Backing the event are Consulate General of Japan Davao, Davao City Tourism Operations Office, City Government of Davao and Department of Tourism Office Davao Region.
