The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Limay hailed the AboitizPower’s private limited partnerships GNPower Dinginin (GNPD) and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) as among the BOC’s top importers in the province of Bataan.
The citation was given to the two companies during the Excellence in Trade Facilitation: Stakeholders Appreciation and Recognition program held at the BOC facility at Barangay Lamao in the town of Limay, Bataan on 10 July 2026.
According to the BOC Port of Limay, the GNPD was awarded as the fourth top importer, while GMEC secured the seventh spot on the prestigious list.
AboitizPower stated that the recognition highlights the companies’ continued commitment to regulatory compliance and their significant contribution to government revenues through the timely payment of customs duties and taxes, supporting national development and economic progress.
Under the leadership of BOC District Collector Atty. Kriden Balgomera and Sub-port Collector Atty. Marc Anthony Patriarca, efficient customs processes have enabled the timely release of critical fuel shipments.
“This collaboration has been vital in ensuring the uninterrupted operations of the power plants and maintaining a stable electricity supply for the Luzon and Visayas grids,” AboitizPower stated.
GMEC and GNPD Chief Operating Officer Emmanuel Lopez and Fuels Management Manager Joel Avila received the plaques of recognition.
Lopez stated that the plants continue to strengthen the country’s energy security while creating shared value for their host communities through operational excellence, responsible business practices, investments in education, environmental stewardship, and community development initiatives across Bataan.
“By combining reliable power generation with strict regulatory compliance, GMEC and GNPD continue to serve as catalyst partners for both the nation’s energy needs and sustainable economic progress.”
GMEC and GNPD are two massive coal-fired power plants in Mariveles, Bataan. Jointly managed by AboitizPower, they supply the Luzon and Visayas grids with a combined capacity of nearly 2,000 megawatts (MW).
These two companies are some of the biggest importers in the Philippines. They regularly bring in large amounts of coal, primarily from Indonesia, to generate electricity. They clear these goods through the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Limay.
