    The Ramon Magsaysay Zambales Council (RMZC) held the 3rd Regular Council Board Meeting at the Balin Sambali in the Capitol Town of Iba, Zambales on 14 July 2026.

    According to Council Chair and Zambales Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., the council discussed programs and steps to further boost the Scouting Movement in the province of Zambales.

    "For whatever lessons we learned, tingnan natin. So we found out to solve that nagging problem para kapag nangyari ulit, mababawasan na. One thing more, in education, it's not about the title, but it's all about how you use the knowledge that you gain when you get in that course. Dapat magamit mo ang pinag-aralan; kung hindi mo naman gagamitin, sayang," Ebdane said.

    SDS William Roderick Fallorin, CESO VI, along with the Regular Board Members, took part in the discussion regarding various project proposals, action plans, and committee updates of the council focused on the development of the scouting movement of Zambales.

    Council Vice Chairperson George Acupan presented the Midyear Performance Review, and was followed by the Leadership Training Committee with regards to the development of the capacity of the scout leaders thru Leaders Basic Training Courses and Scouting Orientation Courses for the members of the Local Scouting Committees, Local Council Board Members, and Commissioners.

    He also provided the updates on the Organization and Extension Committee regarding the broadening of the scouting the establishment of active Scout Units in schools, increasing the scout members, and better collaboration between the Local government, including the Sangguniang Kabataan.

    Council Board Member Edel Beltran discussed the plans of the Advancement and Awards Committee, including the District-Wide Advancement Resuscitation Project that aims to boostthee advancement program of the BSP thru better coordination with the districts, and awarding of Merit Badges to further encourage a more active participation of the scouts.

    Meanwhile, Council Board Member Ariel Cervantes discussed the various programs of the 2026 Calendar of Activities and Observances of the Camping and Activities Committee that are focused on the continuous enhancement of skills and capacities, as well as the leadership of scouts thru various programs and activities.

    Council Board Member Rolex Estella presented the plans of the Health and Safety Committee, including the conducting of Basic Life Support, First Aid, Survival Techniques, and Mountaineering Training to further prepare the scouts and their trainers in various situations.

    Council Board Member Dr. Romeo Fastidio have updates for the Finance Committee tegarding the Project Scout Strong 2026, which encompasses the strategies in finding funds, fundraising activities, and cooperation with various agencies and civil society organizations to support the programs of the council.

    "Yung mga ginagawa natin noong nakaraan, that's a good thing. We must find out where we fail. We must also learn from our mistakes, and it's better we learn from the mistakes of others para hindi na natin magawa," Governor Ebdane said.
