Atty. Zuleika Lopez is expected to testify on Tuesday as the Senate impeachment court resumes the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to Senate impeachment court Clerk of Court Atty. Renato Bantug Jr.
Speaking over DZBB, Bantug said Lopez is scheduled to take the witness stand, although he could not confirm whether National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) chief Jaime Santiago Matibag would also testify.
Bantug also said the Senate impeachment court has already uploaded all case documents except for the prosecution's requests for subpoenas, which have yet to be completed.
He stressed that only evidence and testimonies formally presented during the proceedings can be publicly discussed.
"Kung ano lang ‘yung pormal na mai-offer during the trial, ‘yun lang ang puwede nating ibahagi sa ating mga kasama," Bantug said.
The clerk of court added that it remains up to the prosecution how Lopez will be presented before the impeachment court, including whether she will be treated as an adverse witness.
Meanwhile, Bantug said he was satisfied with the conduct of the trial's first week, noting that proceedings were orderly and no breaches of decorum were recorded.
"Maayos naman ang naging takbo nung trial nitong first week... Wala naman tayong nakitang incident na nagkaroon ng breach sa ating decorum," he said.
