Fortinet has appointed Luca Simonelli as senior vice president for Asia Pacific, tasking the cybersecurity veteran with leading the company’s regional sales organization and growth strategy.
Based in Singapore, Simonelli will oversee Fortinet’s operations across Japan, North Asia and South Asia, including Southeast Asia, India and SAARC, Australia and New Zealand. His responsibilities include strengthening customer and partner relationships while driving the company’s regional expansion.
Simonelli brings more than 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, networking, cloud security, secure access service edge and managed services. He most recently held a senior leadership role at GCX Managed Services and previously spent nearly eight years at Fortinet leading the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa business.
“Asia Pacific continues to be one of the most dynamic cybersecurity markets globally, as organizations accelerate digital transformation, adopt AI, and modernize critical infrastructure,” said Joe Sarno, executive vice president for international sales at Fortinet.
Simonelli said Fortinet’s integrated cybersecurity platform positions the company to help organizations simplify security while strengthening cyber resilience.
“As customers continue to modernize their infrastructure and embrace AI, Fortinet is uniquely positioned to help them secure every part of their digital journey,” he said.
Simonelli holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Milan.
