Hali Long added another milestone to her decorated career after being named the Most Valuable Player of the Thai Women’s League following a stellar campaign that powered BGC Bundit Asia to the league championship.

Long played a pivotal role in BGC’s unbeaten title run, making 10 appearances, scoring two goals and logging 944 minutes as the club finished with 13 wins and one draw. The Filipinas captain also anchored a defense that posted seven clean sheets throughout the season.

The championship also secured BGC Bundit Asia a berth in the 2026-27 AFC Women’s Champions League.

It will mark Long’s third appearance in Asia’s premier women’s club competition after previously representing Kaya FC-Iloilo in 2024 and College of Asian Scholars in 2025.

The 31-year-old World Cup veteran likewise joined Japanese players Saki Nishihara and Marin Kai as the only foreign players recognized among the Thai Women’s League’s top individual awardees this season.

Long recently rejoined the Philippines women’s national football team during its training camp in California in June, where the squad played exhibition matches against San Diego Wave FC and Albion San Diego as part of its buildup for upcoming international competitions.

The Filipinas are now preparing for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup while also setting their sights on the women’s football tournament of the 2026 Asian Games, which opens in Nagoya, Japan on 19 September.
