Two brothers were arrested for possessing four alleged unlicensed firearms at Brgy. Motrico in the town of La Paz, Tarlac on 29 June 2026.
According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit, together with PNP Special Action Force, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 of Police Regional Office 3 and territorial police unit simultaneously implemented two Search Warrants for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) at the said area.
The group confiscated caliber 5.56 rifle, caliber 45 pistol, caliber 40 pistol, 12-gauge shotgun, and assorted magazines, as well as rounds of ammunition during the implementation.
A report that reached PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG, stated that the joint units confiscated one unlicensed caliber 45 pistol, assorted magazines, and ammunition in the house of suspect "Ron" who has no License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOFP).
Likewise, in a nearby residence, the joint teams seized three alleged loose firearms—caliber 5.56 rifle, caliber 40 pistol, and 12-gauge shotgun, magazines and ammunition from "Alpi," brother of Ron. Alpi was arrested after failing to present documents permitting the possession of the three firearms.
The CIDG leadership commends PCOL Grant A Gollod, the Regional Chief of CIDG Regional Field Units 3, and the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit led by its Provincial Chief, PLTCOL Arvin E Hosmillo, for the arrest of two suspects for alleged illegal possession of firearms; and the confiscation of the four firearms weapons.
The accomplishment underscores the Unit’s commitment to preventing crime by removing from circulation and use- the very instruments of killing and violence.
The CIDG assures the public that it is steadfast in implementing all the laws; and relentless in accounting and confiscating all loose firearms, across the country.
