Carlo Biado added another trophy to his collection after ruling the Predator PBC International Indonesia Open 10-Ball over the weekend in Jakarta.
Biado defeated teammate Paolo Gallito in a thrilling 10-9 victory in the final to take home $25,000 (around P1.5 million).
The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame member admitted he almost lost hope when he found himself on the verge of defeat, trailing Gallito, 8-9, before the latter scratched the cue ball.
It was a case of the veteran world champion escaping an upset bid, as Biado edged the youthful Gallito in a hill-hill 10-9 victory.
“I was lucky. I didn’t expect he would end up with a scratch on that ball,” Biado said.
“Maybe this is really for me. Destiny happened.”
Despite settling for a runner-up finish, Gallito will still take home $12,000 (around P738,000).
Up next for Biado is the Asian Pool Championship, which starts on Friday in Vietnam.
