DAVAO CITY — The 2026 Davao Sports Heroes Night is now accepting nominees for its sports recognition activity set this September.

Leo Paul Palo of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA)-Southern Sports Digest said they are kicking off their annual awards nights where they recognize both national and local-based athletes from the Davao Region as well as other parts of Mindanao who have excelled in their specific fields and have brought pride and honor to the country and their respective towns and provinces in the international and national levels.

“There will be new additions to the awardees and some new citations as well, such as the Sports Heroes Night ‘Rising Athlete of the Year’ award, which will be presented to new and budding sports personalities who have excelled in their respective fields,” said Palo, adding that nominations can be sent at the DSA official Facebook page.

Nominees must fill in their full names, details of the athlete or organization, the events participated in and won from the international to the national level from 2026 until first quarter of 2026 as well as some photos for the screening committee’s reference.

Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick Gregorio and PSC executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go are expected to grace the event.
