The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has donated P500,000 in financial assistance to the local government of Glan, Sarangani, to support relief and rehabilitation efforts following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the province.
The bureau said the assistance came from voluntary contributions made by NBI officials and personnel from offices nationwide.
The cash donation will help augment the local government's ongoing relief operations, emergency response, and rehabilitation programs for affected families and communities.
Aside from the financial assistance, the NBI also donated relief goods, including bottled drinking water and sacks of rice, to address the immediate needs of displaced residents.
The bureau likewise extended P210,000 in financial assistance to personnel of the NBI Sarangani District Office who were affected by the earthquake.
The amount was distributed among affected employees to provide immediate financial relief and assist in their recovery.
The NBI said the initiative reflects its commitment to serving the public during times of crisis while also supporting the welfare of its personnel assigned in disaster-stricken areas.
It added that the assistance underscores the bureau's commitment to service, integrity, and compassion by extending aid to communities in need and fostering solidarity among its personnel.
