BEA AND MARGA VALDES: Valdes Designs, previously BEAVALDES
Having the courage to evolve. Every new chapter requires letting go of certainty and trusting that your practice can become something larger than you first imagined.

Beginnings
Casually, first as a hobby and a creative experiment in 1999. The turning point was in December 2004, when we were generously invited by Wynn Wynn Ong to join her Christmas Show at Firma. We officially began exporting in 2005, after our first US Vogue Feature in June of that year.

Challenges
BEA: There are always challenges, and each issue is an opportunity to choose how to grow. Every obstacle helps you refine who you want to be, what you stand for as a brand.
MARGA: Having the courage to evolve. Every new chapter requires letting go of certainty and trusting that your practice can become something larger than you first imagined.
Where I am now
MARGA: We are increasingly working at the intersection of craft, art and architecture — creating works that shape how people experience a space. We are focused on large-scale commissioned artworks that bring Philippine craftsmanship into contemporary residential and hospitality environments.

Wisdom
BEA: The choices you make will continue to define who you are, what you value and where you want to go. Relationships with mentors and like-minded clients are one of the most valuable gifts from the journey.
MARGA: Depth matters more than scale. The longer I work, the more I believe that mastery comes from returning to the same questions with greater understanding.
