26 years of trust: Wealth money can’t buy
‘Your savings may pay the hospital bill. But trust, compassion and love help you heal. Your investments can grow your net worth. But your character grows your life’s worth.’

True wealth is not just what you own, it is also what you have earned.
Many people define wealth by what they own — a beautiful home, a luxury car, a growing investment portfolio. These are all forms of tangible wealth. They are important because they provide comfort, security, and choices.
But recently, life reminded me that there is another kind of wealth that may be even more valuable.
A father’s day wake-up call
One Father’s Day, while spending time with my family, I suddenly became weak. I broke into a cold sweat and felt a real sense of discomfort. What started out as a simple family outing quickly became an emergency.
Thankfully, Manila Doctors was just a stone’s throw away and Dr. Tony Leachon and his team were able to give me the proper assistance. Soon, doctors and nurses were treating me with professionalism and genuine care. After several tests, the results showed no major findings.
It was a warning, not a tragedy.
The wealth money can buy
I was grateful that I had prepared financially. Quality healthcare, medical tests, and emergency treatment all require resources. This is why we save, invest and protect our families with insurance.
Financial security matters. It gives us options when life takes an unexpected turn.
The wealth money can’t buy
But what touched me even more were the things no amount of money could buy. The kindness of strangers. The expertise of doctors. The prayers of friends. The love of family. The trust I placed in people who genuinely wanted to help.
That is intangible wealth, the kind that is priceless when you need it most.
Trust is wealth
As DAILY TRIBUNE celebrates 26 years, I’m reminded that trust is also a form of wealth. A newspaper doesn’t reach 26 years simply by printing stories. It earns its place through consistency, credibility, and integrity one day, one edition, one reader at a time. The same principle applies to our lives.
Build both kinds of wealth
While building your finances, don’t forget to build the things that truly last.
● Build your finances so you’re ready for life’s surprises.
● Build your reputation because trust takes years to earn and only seconds to lose.
● Build your relationships because people become your greatest support during difficult times.
● Build your health because it is the foundation that allows you to enjoy your success.
● Build your faith because some battles require more than money.
The richest life
Your savings may pay the hospital bill. But trust, compassion and love help you heal. Your investments can grow your net worth. But your character grows your life’s worth.
Congratulations to DAILY TRIBUNE on 26 years of earning the trust of its readers. May we all pursue not only tangible wealth, but also the kind of wealth that leaves a lasting legacy.
Because in the end, the wealth that money can’t buy is the wealth that matters most.
