Since it opened in the 1880s, Café de Flore has carved a niche in the hearts of intellectuals. As one of the oldest and best cafés in Paris for sidewalk people-watching, the café, with its classic Art Deco interior, served as a home where philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir and Albert Camus spent countless hours writing and debating. Artists like Pablo Picasso also came here to fuel their creativity with caffeine and the café’s famous Parisian breakfast, croissants, crème brûlée and other authentic French fare.
