Disney+ is expanding its lineup of original animation with Journey (working title), a new fantasy series from Disney Kids & Family and Higher Ground that is now in production.
Blending music, magic, and adventure, the series follows a young heroine named Journey, who ventures beyond the protective walls of her city after its energy shield begins to fail. As she explores the forbidden world outside, she uncovers the truth behind her father's disappearance and discovers extraordinary powers that could determine the fate of her people.
Created by Matt Munn, whose credits include Ice Age: Collision Course and Spies in Disguise, Journey is executive produced by Munn and Peabody Award winner Steve Loter, with Jessie Dicovitsky serving as executive producer for Higher Ground. The series joins Disney+'s growing slate of family-friendly animated titles, including Bluey, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Big City Greens, and Phineas and Ferb.
