A sea of rainbow flags, colorful attire and calls for equality filled the University of the Philippines Diliman on Saturday as members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies gathered for the Love Laban Pride PH Festival 2026 in observance of Pride Month.
The event, organized by the Quezon City government in partnership with the Pride PH Coalition and the University of the Philippines Diliman, drew thousands of participants advocating gender equality, inclusion and equal rights for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte welcomed participants and reiterated the city’s commitment to programs and policies promoting inclusivity.
“Quezon City will continue to be a home and safe space for all members of the rainbow community through various initiatives, policies and programs. We are proud to partner with Pride PH, UP Diliman and stand with members of the community and our allies as we continue to fight for equal rights and inclusivity,” Belmonte said.
The mayor also opened the Pride Expo, which featured more than 200 exhibitors, including queer-led businesses, government agencies, non-government organizations and community advocates.
The celebration also featured the annual Pride March, with participants traversing a five-kilometer route around the UP Diliman campus.
The march started along E. Jacinto Street before passing Lakandula Street, Roxas Avenue, Osmeña Avenue, Yllana Street and Commonwealth Avenue before returning to University Avenue.
