Fintech app Salmon is strengthening its fraud defenses with new security features designed to stop scams before they happen, as cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated in the Philippines. The platform now offers real-time device monitoring, one-time virtual cards, malicious app detection, live facial verification for sensitive transactions and in-app fraud confirmations.
“Most financial platforms still treat fraud as something you respond to after the damage is done,” said Raffy Montemayor, co-founder of Salmon. “At Salmon, we designed our security systems to work in the background and proactively stop fraud before it succeeds.”
Salmon said its security platform also includes 24/7 human anti-fraud support and investigators who assist customers with fraud-related cases. The company said its approach shifts fintech security from reactive alerts to proactive protection by giving users greater visibility and control over their accounts.
