The Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) conducted a community-based “Bisikleta Iglesia” activity in support of Ligtas SUMVAC 2026

The event brings together police personnel and local cycling enthusiasts in a coordinated ride across key churches in the province.

Led by Police Colonel Joemar Q. Labiano, INPPO Provincial Director, the activity aimed to promote public safety awareness, physical wellness, and spiritual reflection, while increasing police visibility during the summer vacation period.

Participants followed a designated cycling route with prayer stops at several sites, including St. Ignatius de Loyola Chapel inside Camp Captain Valentin S. Juan in Laoag City, Mt. Carmel in Laoag City, St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church in Bacarra, San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in Vintar, St. Joseph Parish Church in Laoag City, St. William’s Cathedral in Laoag City, and San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church in San Nicolas.

The activity also served as a platform to strengthen police-community relations, as officers interacted with residents and fellow participants throughout the route.

Authorities said the initiative forms part of broader efforts under Ligtas SUMVAC 2026 to ensure public safety while encouraging meaningful community engagement during the Holy Week and summer season.
