Cainta boosts emergency fleet

The Cainta Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has expanded its emergency fleet with the acquisition of a new rescue pickup truck designed to navigate the town’s flood-prone streets.
According to the local government, the vehicle, delivered a few months after the BFP’s initial request, features a high-clearance design capable of operating while submerged up to half its height.
Officials said the specialized feature is critical for rescue operations during heavy rains and monsoon flooding.
Mayor Keith Nieto personally accepted the vehicle after an inspection led by Cainta Fire Marshal Capt. Garry Cantillon.
Nieto said the local government’s investment in public safety equipment will continue, with a new fire truck expected to arrive soon. The timing is significant, as March is designated as Fire Prevention Month, a period that historically sees a spike in fire incidents.
“The town must always be prepared for any emergency, whether it be floods or fires,” Nieto said. He added that the new equipment reflects the local government’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents.
Cainta BFP officials expressed gratitude for the continued support, noting that the vehicle will be immediately deployed for community welfare and disaster response.
