The Cabagan-Sta. Maria Bridge in Isabela is set to reopen to motorists on Monday, nearly a year after a section of the newly completed structure collapsed.
Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the construction of a temporary steel bridge connector on 5 January to restore access for motorists traveling between the municipalities of Cabagan and Sta. Maria.
The bridge, originally completed on 1 February 2025, cost P1.23 billion for the structure and its approaches.
It spans 990 meters, including 12 arch bridge sections of 60 meters each and nine pre-stressed concrete girder Type IVB spans, with approaches totaling 664.10 linear meters. The contractor was R.D. Interior Jr. Construction.
