The local government of Caloocan City provided free medical services to 2,100 residents this month as part of the celebrations for the city’s 64th anniversary.
The initiative was carried out through the Caloocan City Medical Center, the Caloocan City North Medical Center and the City Health Department.
The two hospitals held staggered, weeklong missions from 9 to 20 February, while the health department conducted “one-stop shop” community services at local centers across the city’s north and south districts.
Residents received a variety of diagnostic and specialty services, including X-rays, breast ultrasounds, dental checkups and ophthalmology consultations.
The program also offered bone scans and electrocardiograms, or ECGs.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan said the missions align with his administration’s goal of making healthcare a top priority.
“It is no secret that the city government places a high priority on bringing free and quality health services to our constituents,” Malapitan said. “We want to ensure that the health needs of every ‘Batang Kankaloo’ are met every day.”
