The local government of Valenzuela City has inaugurated its Public Safety Center on Tuesday morning, a facility designed to centralize law enforcement and forensic services for the northern Metro Manila district.
The new building will house the Philippine National Police (PNP) Northern District Anti-Cybercrime and Forensic Investigation Unit, alongside the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) District II.
Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian said the consolidation of these offices will lead to better coordination and higher operational efficiency in solving crimes.
“The public safety center is proof of the joint partnership between local and national governments in implementing peace and order in our city,” Gatchalian said in an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE.
He cited that the presence of high-tech forensic and cybercrime units will speed up investigations for the Valenzuela and Northern Police Districts, providing stronger evidence for court cases.
“This means service will be closer, faster and more efficient,” he added.
The center is located on land formerly owned by the Gatchalian family. The mayor recalled that the site was once used for his father’s plastic manufacturing business, which supplied the majority of the country’s plasticware before the property was donated to the Valenzuela local government.
Gatchalian described the project as a milestone for public safety, citing that its services extend beyond Valenzuela to benefit neighboring cities in the northern metropolitan area. The PNP and BFP have already begun deploying personnel and specialized equipment to the new hub.
