A pedestrian and a motorcycle rider were hospitalized late Monday night following a high-speed collision on Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo, where local officials are now questioning the response of a nearby hospital.
The incident, which occurred around 11 p.m. in Barangay 215, was captured on CCTV. The footage shows a man in white attempting to cross the street before being struck by a fast-moving motorcycle. The impact threw the pedestrian several meters across the pavement.
The rider subsequently lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into two parked motorbikes on the side of the road. Barangay official Tolits Bonifacio said the rider appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the scene. Residents and village officials expressed frustration over the perceived lack of immediate medical assistance from the nearby Ospital ng Tondo. Although the crash occurred just meters from the facility, witnesses claimed no medical staff emerged to provide first aid.
