The National Police Commission (Napolcom) confirmed Sunday that 145 unauthorized Facebook pages using the agency’s name and logo have been taken down following a crackdown on digital fraud and misinformation.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), which facilitated the investigation and worked with Meta to remove the accounts.

According to the commission, the fraudulent pages misled the public by posing as official agency accounts or affiliated examination review centers. Many of these pages targeted aspiring police officers by providing false information regarding examination procedures.

Napolcom commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan credited the PNP-ACG for its swift action in protecting the agency’s identity.

“The takedown of these 145 fake pages sends a clear message: we will not allow the name and symbols of Napolcom to be used to deceive, spread misinformation, or profit from our applicants,” Calinisan said.

He added that the move was essential to safeguarding the integrity of the commission’s examination processes and protecting the public from digital scams.

The commission reminded the public that all official announcements, particularly regarding police examinations and application requirements, are released only through its verified communication channels.

Officials urged applicants to remain vigilant and report any suspicious accounts claiming to represent the agency.

The commission stated it will continue to work with law enforcement and digital platforms to detect and respond to cyber threats that undermine public trust and institutional governance.
