The Sandiganbayan on Thursday continued preliminary conferences in several flood control graft cases, with some detainees attending the proceedings.

During the pre-trial, both the prosecution and defense marked pieces of evidence, identified witnesses and stipulated facts before the court.

The Fourth Division resumed the preliminary conference at around 1:30 p.m. for the graft case involving former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., DPWH Assistant Engineer Brice Hernandez, Engineer Jaypee Mendoza, Engineer Arjay Domasig, Engineer Emelita Juat, Christina Pineda and Juanito Mendoza.

The charges stem from the alleged P92.8-million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

Juat, Pineda and Domasig were present, while Revilla and his other co-accused waived their appearances.

The parties marked and verified contracts, project maps, coordinates and the affidavit of former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo.

Bernardo previously claimed that Revilla received kickbacks in exchange for endorsing flood control projects.

Meanwhile, the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division continued the marking of evidence in the graft case involving former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co over alleged irregularities in a flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

The prosecution and defense focused on contracts and certificates involving Sunwest.

Co’s co-accused include DPWH Region IV-B officials Gerald Pacanan, Juliet Calvo, Gene Altea, Ruben Delos Santos Jr., Dominic Serrano, Lerma Cayco, Dennis Abagon, Felisardo Casuno and Montrexis Tamayo.

All the accused waived their appearances. The court set the next preliminary conference for 26 February 2026.
