The Philippines has committed to supporting the agricultural mechanization of African nations by sharing technical expertise and best practices developed through its national rice programs.
A delegation from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization met with African agriculture officials during the Africa Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization.
The four-day conference, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, concluded 6 February in Dar es Salaam.
PHilMech director Dionisio G. Alvindia, who led the delegation, affirmed the agency’s commitment to assisting Tanzania and other neighboring countries as he highlighted the success of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund as a model for enhancing productivity and achieving food security.
“We at PHilMech are committed to supporting Tanzania and other African countries by sharing technical expertise and best practices to enhance your mechanization efforts,” Alvindia said.
