For rising star Andres Muhlach, this stage of life is not about rushing into romance. Instead, it is about growth, focus, and staying grounded—guided closely by family and, most especially, by his twin sister.

In a candid interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, hosted by Boy Abunda, Andres shared that he has never had a girlfriend—by choice.

“Hindi pa, Tito Boy. That’s my choice naman, yeah, oo,” he said.

According to Andres, the past few years have been consumed by demanding work schedules and personal commitments, leaving little room for romance.

“Kasi right now, with the way everything has happened, mas lalo with work and everything, parang I’ve been so busy these last few years,” he explained.

He clarified, however, that he is not completely inexperienced when it comes to matters of the heart.

“In the past, I have naman. I can’t lie and say that I have not,” he admitted.

A life rooted in family

As the son of Charlene Gonzalez and Aga Muhlach, Andres grew up in the public eye. Despite his famous lineage, he said he has remained grounded, largely because of his close relationship with his twin sister, Atasha Muhlach.

Beyond being siblings, Andres described their bond as rare and deeply intuitive.

“Ako feeling ko, may twin telepathy kami talaga. Feeling ko it’s a real thing, especially kami ni Tash since we’re so close,” he said.

He recalled moments when a simple glance between them was enough to communicate what words could not.

“I don’t know how to explain it, but really, sometimes we just look at each other and we’re like ‘Gets,’” Andres shared.

Each other’s safe space

More than just twins, Andres considers Atasha his closest confidante. Whenever doubts or pressures arise, especially in his career, she is the first person he turns to.

“Halimbawa, challenges sa work, ganu’n. Kapag may work na siyempre kinakabahan ako, ganu’n, I talk to my sister, and we always like to parang level with each other in a sense na ’O, ganito ‘yun, ganiyan, ganiyan,’” he said.

They regularly exchange advice and help each other stay grounded in an industry that can be overwhelming.

Even when it comes to relationships, their bond plays a significant role. Andres said anyone he may eventually date must earn not only his trust but his sister’s approval as well.

“Yeah, dapat ganu’n talaga. And I also feel like parang as a brother and as a son, you’d want to bring home someone that would be accepted right to your family,” he said.
