The rehabilitation and improvement of the passenger terminal building at Iloilo International Airport is now 60 percent complete, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported on Monday.
CAAP said completed works include the installation of four escalators, a flight information display system, repairs to the baggage handling system, and the addition of new gang chairs and luggage trolleys. The installation of three chillers has also been completed.
“The steady progress of the Iloilo International Airport terminal improvements reflects CAAP’s commitment to providing safer, more efficient, and passenger-friendly airport facilities. These enhancements are designed to improve the overall travel experience,” said CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario.
The agency said the rehabilitation works are being implemented in phases to ensure the airport’s continuous and safe operation, while minimizing inconvenience to passengers and other airport users.
