Trump said he was unhappy about the drills that are designed to prepare for a possible attack by Pyongyang.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Monday that work on the North–South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR-Ex) is picking up, with the first big support beam set in Clark and the first rails welded at the Mabalacat Depot.
The agency reported on Monday that the girder installation lets the public see the massive concrete structures going up, while the rail welding signals that the project is ready to start connecting permanent tracks.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez stressed the need for close coordination among contractors, consultants, and government units to keep the project moving.
“I need the contractors, the consultants, and DOTr to work closely,” Lopez said.
The Clark segment covers about 6.5 kilometers of track, including an underground station at Clark International Airport, elevated bridges, and depot access.
According to Rep. Carmelo Lazatin Jr. the local government is working with DOTr to secure the right-of-way in Angeles City, adding that the project will boost Pampanga’s economy and support small businesses.
Once finished, the NSCR-Ex is expected to ease traffic, lower commuting costs, and offer safer, more comfortable rides for daily commuters.
