Bong Go sustains feeding program in public hospitals nationwide

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go continues to extend support to public hospitals through sustained feeding initiatives aimed at providing warm meals to patients, caregivers, and hospital personnel.

From 26 to 30 January, the program reached several hospitals across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, helping ease the daily strain on individuals who spend long hours inside medical facilities.

In Metro Manila, the feeding initiative was implemented at Ospital ng Muntinlupa and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, both in Muntinlupa City.

Across Luzon, the program covered Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City and Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery, Batangas; Southern Isabela Medical Center in Santiago City and Governor Faustino Dy Memorial Hospital in Ilagan City, Isabela.

In Laguna, meals were distributed at Laguna Medical Center in Sta. Cruz and San Pablo General Hospital in San Pablo City. Rizal province was also included, with feeding activities held at Antipolo City Hospital Annex IV, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Memorial Hospital in Rodriguez, Cainta Municipal Hospital in Cainta, and Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan.

The initiative also reached Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City and General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

In the Visayas, the program served West Visayas State University Medical Center in Iloilo City. In Mindanao, meals were distributed at Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City and Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum City, two of the region’s largest public hospitals catering to patients from various provinces.

Go said the feeding program, while simple, addresses real and recurring needs inside hospital settings.

“Araw-araw may mga Pilipinong nasa ospital na halos walang pahinga—pasyente man, bantay, o frontliner. Kung kaya nating maibsan kahit konti ang bigat ng araw nila, malaking bagay na ‘yon,” he said.

The feeding initiative complements the services provided by Malasakit Centers, which are present in many of the hospitals visited. The centers were institutionalized through Republic Act No. 11463, a law principally authored and sponsored by Go, and aim to streamline access to medical assistance for indigent patients by bringing together multiple government agencies under one roof.
