Tropical Storm Ada maintained its strength over the Philippine Sea on Sunday evening, PAGASA reported.
At 10 p.m., the storm’s center was located 275 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h, gusts up to 80 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa. Ada was moving north at 15 km/h, with strong to gale-force winds extending up to 350 km from the center.
No tropical cyclone wind signals were hoisted, but the Northeast Monsoon and Ada’s periphery are bringing strong gusts to Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Ilocos Norte, Aurora, Polillo Islands, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
Sea conditions remain rough, with waves of 3 to 4 meters reported along eastern seaboards. Mariners of small vessels were advised to stay in port or take precautions.
Ada is forecast to move northeast before looping east of Luzon and weakening into a tropical depression by Monday, then into a low-pressure area by Wednesday due to the northeast monsoon.
