Toilet break

With the rules against smoking in public places more prevalent now, smokers try to find places to satisfy their urge to puff, including restrooms.
The practice has sparked complaints from some customers of two jewelry shopping malls in Guangdong province, China. In response, the operators of the Shenzhen’s Shuibei International Center and Shuibei Jinzuo Building installed high-tech glass doors in its restrooms.
The restroom glass is normally opaque so its occupant is not visible. However, when smoke is detected by sensors inside the cubicles, the glass turns transparent, South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports.
The shopping centers put a notice on the doors that warn users: “The glass will turn transparent if you smoke. Hold your urge to smoke if you do not want to become famous online,” according to SCMP.
Some lawyers opined that the shopping malls may be exposed to lawsuits if the glass malfunctions and accidentally shows a user answering the call of nature.
Meanwhile, a restroom for the handicapped in an Outback Steakhouse in Florida, USA angered a customer due to the bizarre experience he had in it.
Michael Green is suing the restaurant on Southwest College Road in the city of Ocala for the injury he suffered during an ill-fated trip to the toilet.
In his lawsuit, Green cited “significant and permanent loss of an important bodily function” for the “loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life” among the injuries he sustained and he demanded $50,000 in damages from the steakhouse, New York Post (NYP) reports.
Green said the toilet seat in the handicapped stall “suddenly shattered and collapsed” while he was on it, injuring him, according to NYP.
